Kimbe Mas CIC is a creative organisation rooted in Caribbean heritage and dedicated to cultural innovation, education, and sustainability. Established in London, Kimbe Mas CIC celebrates the artistry, resilience, and evolution of Caribbean culture through fashion, public art, and community engagement.

The name Kimbe Mas draws from Caribbean carnival traditions. In its original context, a “Mas band” (short for masquerade band) represents a collective of performers — masqueraders — who wear costumes and bring a theme to life during carnival celebrations. These bands embody unity, artistry, and expression.

However, within the context of our Community Interest Company, Kimbe Mas carries a deeper dual meaning. Beyond representing the carnival artform, it symbolises “mass” — as in reaching the masses. This reinterpretation reflects our mission to extend the power of Caribbean creativity beyond the parade route — to communities, classrooms, and global platforms.

Kimbe Mas CIC exists not just to entertain, but to educate, empower, and elevate. Our work builds bridges between tradition and innovation, between the local and the global, between cultural expression and sustainable practice. By doing so, we aim to ensure that the legacy and future of Caribbean creativity continue to inspire and impact the masses for generations to come.

WE LOVE A PLAN

Turning creativity into community impact.

  • OUR STRATEGIC VISION

Kimbe Mas CIC is more than a celebration — it’s a blueprint for cultural sustainability, where creativity, education, and environmental responsibility meet.

Our strategy focuses on three interconnected pillars:

Culture & Community – Strengthening the role of Caribbean heritage in UK cultural life through accessible, inclusive programming.

Sustainability & Innovation – Embedding eco-friendly practices into every project, from design materials to event logistics.

Education & Empowerment – Building creative pathways for young people and communities to learn, earn, and lead.

Each pillar feeds the others. By investing in art that sustains both people and planet, we’re creating a circular ecosystem — where creativity fuels opportunity, and opportunity fuels change.

  • SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY

Sustainability isn’t a trend for us; it’s a cultural responsibility. Our ancestors lived by reuse, repair, and reinvention — we’re simply updating those values for a modern world.

Our sustainability strategy has measurable impact targets and aligns with Arts Council England’s Environmental Responsibility priorities.

    Key Commitments

Materials: Prioritise recycled, natural, and ethically sourced fabrics for all costume and event production.

Circular Design: Repair, resell, or repurpose all leftover costumes and décor.

Zero-Waste Events: Implement recycling and reuse stations at every Kimbe Mas event, aiming for 80% waste reduction by 2027.

Local Partnerships: Work with UK-based and Caribbean suppliers committed to ethical labour and low-impact transport.

Digital Innovation: Use virtual design and 3D modelling to cut sample waste by 40% by 2026.

Education: Teach sustainability across all youth and community workshops.

These commitments are embedded in every Kimbe Mas CIC project, from our fashion gala to our public artwork initiatives.

Our aim is to demonstrate that Caribbean culture can lead the conversation on global sustainability — not just participate in it.

  • COMMUNITY & EDUCATION STRATEGY

Creativity is the bridge between heritage and hope. Through structured educational programmes, we’re nurturing the next generation of cultural leaders.

    Objectives

    • Deliver 15 school and community partnerships annually across London by 2026.
    • Launch The Kimbe Mas Education Truck — a mobile classroom bringing Carnival arts and sustainability workshops directly to schools and community centres.
    • Create a Digital Learning Hub by 2027 to connect UK and Caribbean creatives for remote mentoring and cultural exchange.
    • Develop accredited training in Cultural Event Safety & Stewardship, empowering residents to manage events safely and confidently.

    Expected Outcomes

    • Increased cultural literacy and pride in Caribbean heritage.
    • Tangible career pathways in creative industries.
    • Stronger intergenerational connection between youth and elders through shared creative practice.

This strategy will be supported through Arts Council England funding, local council collaboration, and private donations from funders who believe in education as transformation.

  • ECONOMIC & SOCIAL IMPACT STRATEGY

Every Kimbe Mas project has two bottom lines: community well-being and financial sustainability. We build creative initiatives that generate their own income while delivering measurable social benefit.

    Approach

    • Use initial Arts Council funding to establish sustainable income streams (ticketed fashion gala, merchandise, and touring exhibitions).
    • Partner with ethical sponsors for co-branded sustainability campaigns.
    • Develop a membership and donor programme for community supporters.
    • Introduce Artist Micro-Grants from event proceeds to nurture new talent.

    Impact Targets (by 2028)

    • £500,000 in self-generated revenue across all projects.
    • 30% reinvested annually into community training and youth engagement.
    • 5,000+ direct beneficiaries through workshops, exhibitions, and performances.

Our economic model blends creativity with accountability — proving that culture can be both self-sustaining and socially transformative.

  • PARTNERSHIP & FUNDING STRATEGY

We believe in partnership that goes beyond logos. Our collaborators are part of our story — shaping the movement with us.

    Current Focus

    • Arts Council England: Core project funding and multi-year development support.
    • Corporate Sponsors: Sustainability-aligned brands in fashion, energy, or logistics.
    • Community Donors & Philanthropists: Supporters of cultural equity and education.
    • Promotional & Outreach Partners: Media, schools, and councils helping to expand access.
    • Educators & Curators: Co-designing curriculum, exhibitions, and cultural research.

    Partnership Principles

    • Mutual Benefit — Every collaboration should uplift all involved.
    • Transparency — Clear objectives, reporting, and community accountability.
    • Longevity — We build partnerships for growth, not one-off events.

We are actively seeking partnerships and sponsors who share our vision of cultural sustainability and empowerment.

OUR MISSION

VISION. COMMUNITY.

Our mission is to empower Caribbean culture to thrive sustainably — through creativity, education, and community.

We exist to make sure the artistry, rhythm, and storytelling that define Caribbean identity are not just preserved, but positioned as pillars of innovation and progress.

Kimbe Mas CIC uses the language of fashion, carnival, and cultural design to build bridges between heritage and modernity, creativity and sustainability, and communities who have always carried brilliance but haven’t always had access to opportunity.

We’re building programmes that equip artists, designers, and young people with the tools, training, and resources to create a better future — one that honours where we come from while investing in where we’re going.

OUR VISION

DREAM. DO IT.

Our vision is to see Caribbean creativity recognised as one of the world’s most powerful and sustainable forces — a driving influence in global fashion, design, and cultural innovation.

We see a future where the carnival maker, the young designer, and the creative child in the classroom all have equal access to resources, mentorship, and respect.

A future where Caribbean design is not just appreciated but invested in — building careers, industries, and communities that thrive for generations.

We envision a cultural economy where sustainability and tradition work hand in hand, and where joy, creativity, and consciousness exist side by side.

MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER

Kimbe Mas was born from a simple but important belief: Caribbean culture deserves the platforms, investment and recognition that reflect its true value. Our creativity — whether expressed through fashion, performance, visual arts, literature, digital innovation, design or community building — is powerful, globally influential and deeply rooted in history, resilience and genius. Yet, too often, we are celebrated without being fully supported, understood, or resourced.

This organisation exists to change that. Kimbe Mas CIC is not just a project; it is a movement to uplift and advance Caribbean excellence across multiple creative and cultural spaces. Yes, carnival is a crucial part of our story — but our mission goes far beyond a single artform. We are here to build sustainable infrastructures, nurture emerging talent, preserve cultural heritage, strengthen economic opportunities, and create pathways so that the next generation not only inherits our culture, but thrives within it.

I want our communities to be seen not only for the beauty of what we produce, but for the intelligence, strategy, innovation and leadership behind it. I want funders, institutions, partners and audiences to understand that Caribbean creativity is not seasonal, optional, or decorative — it is a world-shaping creative force that deserves its space at the head table.

Kimbe Mas is about changing narratives.
About shifting how the world values our stories.
About transforming celebration into investment.
About turning visibility into opportunity.
About ensuring that Caribbean creatives no longer have to fight twice as hard to be taken seriously.

Whether through cultural events, talent development, public art, education initiatives, community partnerships or new industry frameworks — our work is rooted in purpose. It is rooted in legacy. It is rooted in the belief that our communities deserve more than applause — they deserve access, advocacy and long-term growth.

Thank you for being here, for supporting this mission, and for joining us as we take Caribbean creativity to the world — not as guests, but as rightful leaders.

With gratitude,

Che Kimberly
