Safety & Well-Being in Carnival SpacesItem Link List Item 2
Safety and inclusion are central. Focus areas: masquerader safety, crowd education, and accessibility.
Measures include:
- metal barriers along key routes,
- directional crowd flow with visible signage,
- large judging-point banners and arches,
- cordon management between sound systems and parade routes, and
- pre-event public education campaigns explaining carnival elements to encourage responsible behaviour.
We prioritise disability access, sensory-aware spaces, hydration and rest points for bands, and training in mental health first aid and trauma-informed design.
